If you are ordering a tank top with your registration, it will be delivered at practice in week 6 or 7.
Crash Course 101 is a 7-week course that teaches folks (aged 18+) the basics of roller skating for roller derby.
Hosted by Ottawa Roller Derby, participants will learn basic skating techniques such as stopping, falling safely, crossovers, derby position, and footwork, as well as an introduction to the rules of roller derby.
Please note that all participants MUST bring the following safety gear as well as quad skates (not roller blades):
- helmet (roller derby/skateboard, hockey or bicycle)
- knee pads
- elbow pads
- wrist guards
- mouth guard (optional but recommended)
A limited number skates are available for rental on a first-come, first-served basis. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for available sizes or information. Skates can also be rented through Honey Skates, please send an email to email@example.com
Insurance can be purchased at a cost of $30, payable to CRDi, by following this link: http://www.crdinfo.ca/. Click on "East Skaters" and follow steps. Insurance is mandatory for anyone who joins the league after completing the Crash Course.
*Please note there will be no class on Sunday April 1 due to the holiday*
Refunds will only be processed if a request is submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org BEFORE the Crash Course begins. A processing fee will be applied to the refund. No refunds will be issued once the Crash Course begins.
